Trump emits “Last Warning” to Hamas to release Israeli hostages

President Trump directly warned Hamas militants to immediately release all the hostages held in Gaza or face death.

In a post on social media on Wednesday, Mr. Trump turned to the Hamas militants and was based on a statement he made in his speech to the congress the night before, when he said that his administration was “reporting our hostages from Gaza”, without providing details.

“It releases all the hostages now, not later, and immediately returns all the corpses of the people you killed, or ended up for you,” he published on Truth Social Wednesday.

It was the last example of the use of Mr. Trump to try to cut obstacles to a desired political goal. Even if he warned the militant group, the officials said that the United States and Hamas had kept direct interviews in Qatar on the hostages, challenging separate negotiations involving Hamas and Israel in terms of the next phase of a fire to the fire in Gaza.

The Israeli government said that about 25 hostages and the remains of over 30 others are still in Gaza. Trump, who previously directed strong threats to their kidnappers, said that the militants were “sick and twisted” for keeping the bodies.

“I am sending to Israel everything he needs to finish the job, not a single member of Hamas will be safe if you don’t do it as I said,” Trump wrote.

“This is your last warning,” he continued, adding that if the group continued to keep hostage, “you’re dead!”

Hamas declared in a post on the Telegram app that Trump’s declaration would have complicated the efforts to negotiate the second phase of his cessation agreement with Israel and would make it easier for the Israeli government not to satisfy their obligations pursuant to the agreement. Israel and Hamas are in a stalemate during the second phase, which aims to reach a complete truce that would end the war and free the remaining living hostages.

Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups seized about 250 hostages during the mortal attack in Israel on October 7, 2023, which triggered the war in Gaza. The Palestinian authorities affirm that over 45,000 Gaza have been killed in the conflict. Military experts say that while the military campaign of Israel has weakened Hamas, the group still holds power to Gaza.

More than 100 hostages were released during a truce at the end of 2023 and another 30-lines together with the bodies of eight people seized in the attachment-banking returned during a second ceased the fire that began in January. According to the terms of ceased the fire, Israel has released hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in return.

Trump’s place did not mention an exchange of prisoners and did not provide details on the military help said he was sending to Israel. But in a possible indication of the administration approach, the secretary of state Marco Rubio this week invoked the “emergency authorities” to circumvent the congress and send $ 4 billion of arms to Israel. It was the second time in a month that the administration had forced the process of approval of the congress for sending weapons to the country.
