To listen to Dan Bongino describing it, the Federal Bureau of Investigation is “the single institution of application of the law” in America and a “left -wing political action committee” dedicated to covering democratic crimes and holding the truth from the American people.
“It’s time for a cleaning of the absolute house,” he said in 2023.
Now Mr. Bongino-the long-looking expert expert, the podcaster and the vocal ally of President Trump-was chosen to act as a new deputy director of the agency. Its podcast and the radio program will end the production on March 14th.
The work, which does not require confirmation of the Senate, was traditionally filled by a senior agent with a vast operational experience and a profound understanding of how the various divisions of the Bureau. The last two deputy directors together had more than 35 years of experience before taking on the role. Mr. Bongino was the official police officer and secret service agent of the United States years ago, but has no experience with the FBI
Bongino’s precise plans for the agency remain opaque, but on recent podcasts he said that he would free the politicization agency and focus on crimes such as drug trafficking – despite the large mandate of the Bureau to protect national security, investigate the crimes and eradicate corruption by public officials at all levels.
As a whole, the years of comments from Mr. Bongino on his radio program and on the podcast have painted a vision for “dramatic change” to the FBI, as he said last week. These ideas are largely aligned with the criticisms presented by his friend Kash Patel, who has recently been confirmed as director of the Agency. Some of their ideas, however, would probably require additional funding.
The FBI refused to comment, but recently rejected the accusations of “corruption” leveled by a secretary of the Republican cabinet, stating that these statements are not “supported by any test” and “they undermine the men and women of the FBI”
Responding during his radio program on Wednesday to the questions sent by the New York Times, Bongino said: “It is my task to produce political opinions”. He added: “Your political opinions are not a prerequisite for such a job, of course. My experience of applying the law was. “
Here’s what Mr. Bongino said in the past on his vision for the FBI
Fire ‘All’
Mr. Bongino has often focused on FBI officials who, in his mind, showed Sleeves to Mr. Trump pursuing investigations against him or his supporters.
“How do we solve this? We trigger all those who remained standing, “he said in June 2023 after Mr. Trump was offending on charges of mistreating the documents.” Only the people who did this do not shoot. All those who got up and did nothing while the Department of Justice and the FBI were devastated, devastated by corrupt crazy crazy. Everyone is fired. “Everyone.”
The Republicans and allies of Mr. Trump tried to minimize the accusations against Mr. Trump claiming that some FBI investigations were little more than a “witch hunt” against him.
The accusation on the abused documents focused on the classified documents of Mr. Trump in several rooms of Mar-a-lago, including a shower. The investigation was started by the FBI in 2022, but in the end it was detected by an independent special consultant. The accusations were rejected after the re -election of Mr. Trump, because the policy of the Justice Department forbids to indicate and pursue a seated president.
Renovate the FBI
In past shows, Mr. Bongino approved the suggestions of Mr. Patel according to which the FBI was swollen and that his agents in Washington should be dispersed across the country to combat crime.
“Corruption must be immediately deceased,” he said during a show in June 2023. “The FBI should no longer exist as it is now formed. The mission should be divided. The money should be divided among the other agencies that seriously bring the oath into their country.”
Patel has already started keeping some of those promises. In February he announced the plans to move about 1,500 agents and others from the Washington region to offices on the field and other structures across the country.
Expose the “covers” of the FBI
Bongino said that the FBI knows the truth about various mysteries that animated the right influencers for years.
Among these is the mystery surrounding two pipe bombs that were planted outside the headquarters of both political parties in Washington the day before the manifestation of Mr. Trump on January 6, 2021. The bombs never exploded and there remains a mystery that planted them, although the FBI has released new details on the January case, including the new surveillance video.
Bongino said that the FBI tried to hide the crime in what called the “biggest scandal in the history of the FBI”. Not mentioning evidence, he said that FBI officials know the identity of the bomber and that they are keeping him secret to protect democrats or government professionals. The former FBI officials who worked if they said it was false.
He said that the next FBI leaders must “arrive in history on the first day and restore trust”.
“It is absolutely clear for me that this was an internal work,” he said on the bombs during a broadcast in November. “I don’t necessarily mean within the government. Could be. But there is no doubt in my mind that this was not a sorceress person who planted that bomb. This was a crazy anti-trump, and the FBI knows who it is and will not tell you. “
The “politicized” investigations ends …
Bongino said that Trump’s supporters were unjustly targeted by FBI when he investigated the crimes committed on January 6th.
“We are not investigating the bad guys because we are wasting the FBI, HSI and Doj Time investigate who? Maga and Christian nationalists, “he said in November 2023, referring to the investigations on national security.
What really happened: the FBI investigated people based on the evidence of having committed crimes such as entry illegally into the capital of the United States, attacking police officers or engaged in seditious conspiracy. During the sentences of a handful of defendants, federal ministries asked for what is known as improvement in terrorism.
Christopher A. Wray, who resigned from director of the FBI before Trump came into office, described the attack, in which the supporters of Mr. Trump sacked the Capitol, causing five deaths and dozens of injuries to the police officers, as a domestic terrorism. Mr. Wray was confirmed during the first administration of Mr. Trump.
At the same time, Mr. Bongino suggested that the FBI should focus on other violent crimes such as drug commitment, even if the FBI is responsible for investigating any violation of the federal law.
“In fact, I think the intelligence function should be completely removed by the FBI,” said Bongino in November last year. “They should return to the investigation into the bank robbery, kidnapping, serious things.”
The FBI has not abandoned those activities. The recent advertisements of the agency include arrests relating to an attack by the Islamic State, a series of ATM robberies in New York and money laundering in St. Louis.
… and potentially start the investigations against the Democrats.
For years Bongino has said that progressive leaders, including former president Joseph R. Biden Jr., have committed crimes and said that FBI leaders should be investigated.
“When Kash Patel enters, I think many of these people involved should be investigated,” he said in January on his belief that the FBI had a role in the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6, 2021. “If there were crimes committed, persecuted”.
In a report last year, the Department of Justice found “no proof” that the FBI had “under cover employees in the various crazy crashes, or at the Capitol, on January 6”
Bongino echoed to the republican statements that the FBI and the Department of Justice were armed against the conservatives and want to transform those agencies on leftist Americans, even if the office has a long history of investigations in the Democrats. In a show broadcast in January, Bongino suggested that they would use the government to chase Lawbreakers in a tit-per-tat response to what claimed that the Democrats had done.
“They armed the government to chase Trump for the accusations they have built,” he said. “We will use the government to chase the people who legitimately believe the law.”
Mr. Bongino seemed to recognize the concerns that would politicized the FBI, responding to his podcast that doing it was the last thing in his mind.
“We are there for the opposite reason,” he said. “To make sure that none of this happens.”
